The leaves on this Cymbidium are cut because it has fertilizer burn. The burn didn't happen because one time it was given too much, and it also didn't hapen because it was fertilized too much over time, as is often the case. It happened because this plant hasn't been repotted in a long time. When an orchid hasn't been repotted in years, the mix gets old and fertilizer and toxic elements build up.
